LEAD CON 2022 — Victory Alabang

As people, we all have our own preferences, biases, and viewpoints. We are allowed to disagree on a lot of things. However, God’s love and mission for us to go and make disciples is one thing we can all agree on and do together.

This year’s Leadership Convergence reiterated that very point, and pointed us to the future. Now under a new format and renamed to LEAD CON, the event was held last September 24, 2022 at Victory Alabang for our Victory Group Leaders and Interns.

Unlike previous years, LEAD CON began with breakfast. Leaders and pastors came together to have breakfast, form deeper connections with each other, and discuss important issues and topics. After the initial discussions, the doors opened for all leaders to move to our Assembly Hall for worship, realignment, and encouragement.

Restore and Rebuild

Pastor Ariel Marquez began by acknowledging the grief and pain we’ve gone through the past couple of years. We’ve lost so much both as individuals and as a larger community. However, he doesn’t believe that’s where our story ends.

We were reminded that God will restore his church — He can restore health, wealth, and anything the enemy has stolen from us. We may have experienced loss, but God has the power to restore. We also have our own responsibility as a church — we have to rebuild. On that topic, there were three main points shared:

First, we must rebuild together with great unity. The reality is that we will never agree on everything, but we must not let that develop into deeper disrespect, dishonor, and disunity. We are called to come together to be agents of change, and we can only do that if we do it together.

Second, rebuilding is hard work. It’s long-term and requires great effort and commitment. We don’t want to just be a church with services, we want to be a place where people can gather and feel at home.

Lastly, we must rebuild with new connections. After a season of great contraction, we believe we will be seeing a season of great expansion.

It was a great reminder that we aren’t rebuilding to just remake what we had in the past. Instead, we are moving forward to build something new. We are excited to expand and meet new people, grow with one another, and have a deeper love and relationship with Jesus.

Moving forward, we will work together and continue meeting with our leaders from each of our worship services! Rebuilding takes time and commitment, and we are willing and excited to see how God continues to move.
